Gleason races to gold in 4th Annual Giaimo 5K

Fairfield's Ryan Gleason paced the field of 208 runners to the finish line in the 4th Annual Robert P. Giaimo Memorial 5K Run contested Saturday (October 27) under monsoon-like conditions. Gleason repeated as champion as he completed the 3.1-mile course at the Fairfield Community Center in 17:50.
Fastest to the finish in their age divisions were Fairfield's 11-year old Patrick Gerish, 11-year old Emma Olsson, 17-year old Marissa Manwarren, 19-year old Robert Szpila, 41-year old Mayra Fajardo and 62-year old Konnie Froes.
Picking up runnerup awards were Fairfield's 11-year old Greg Contaldi, 11-year old Olivia Gemma, 15-year old Owen Gantz, 41-year old Janet Filipow and 61-year old Peggy Gleason along with North Caldwell's 16-year old Colin Lyon and 17-year old Lauren Crooks.
